Blood Always Tells by Hilary Davidson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
There aren’t many books that keep me guessing from beginning to end. This one did.
Davidson does a masterful job of moving through three different characters viewpoints, winding a tale of revenge, deceit, and murder. Every time I thought I had a handle on things, the story would shift and I was right back to not knowing a thing. I kept telling my husband, who recommended the book, “I still don’t know what is going on.” That drives some people crazy, but in a thriller-type story it’s perfect.
I do question the third viewpoint used and the ending felt a bit abrupt, which keeps me from giving this five stars. It all works, but I felt like the story was missing another few paragraphs to finish it off.
